Lina Cáceres started in TV and although she comes from a traditional background, she has achieved her expertise by learning from YouTubers, young people who have conquered the digital medium, and that she promotes from LatinWE as VP Digital.
From her experience, she knows that opportunities must be sought and that there are tools in technology to find them. “The gurus who have taught me the most are these young men who grew up by learning to do everything with a tutorial.”
She used this example for the debates on gender and inclusion during the PRODU webinar ¡Colombianas berracas! “The digital world has helped to end stereotypes, amplify the voice of those who did not have it before, and celebrate what is different. Differences enrich us.”
As an example, she points to the case of Calle and Poché, two young lesbian YouTubers who managed to successfully enter a children’s channel to make sexual diversity visible “in a space that we did not know how it was going to be accepted.”
From her understanding of the business, which she used to write the bestseller Cómo Triunfar en el Mundo Digital (How to Succeed in the Digital World), and from the most important talent representation agency in the region, Cáceres ensures that content production is in good health, even after the pandemic.
“It is a good time to supply the global market because we are living the streaming war and there are more and more platforms and more space for everyone.”
