Mauricio Piccone, former Endemol and executive producer with more than 25 years of experience, joined Azteca Estudios as comercial director, reporting to Patricia Jasin, VP of Azteca Estudios and TV Azteca Internacional. Piccone announced the news in an exclusive interview on #PRODUprimetime with Richard Izarra.
“I am thrilled about the opportunity to participate in this new project, I thank Patricia Jasin for the trust she has placed in me and I am sure we will make Azteca Estudios the premium destination of (national and international) projects made in Mexico. The facilities we have are unique in the country, it is a one-stop-shop, where clients will find everything that is necessary to solve the needs they might have. This, together with the support of Grupo Salinas, puts us in a privileged position facing the future,” stated Piccone, who was recommended by Michelle Wasserman for the position.
He pointed out that Azteca Estudio has the best structure and facilities with its 25 thousand square feet: “it has an air conditioner, something many studios in Mexico do not have; with 46 dressing rooms, some of which even have showers. The clients who come here will have no need to look for services outside”. Another advantage is that thanks to Grupo Salinas, they have legal and financial advisory for international productions.
Even though he cannot yet reveal the names of the projects, he mentioned they have a huge production in the studios that have been shot there for several years, and that additionally there are other large international fiction productions on the way.
He stated that Mexico is a country where budgets can yield more. “Clients can stretch the gum a bit more here”, inviting everyone to visit and produce in Azteca Estudios.
