Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer International Television Distribution today announced that it appointed Matt Vassallo as SVP, International Television Distribution, Free TV Sales & Strategy and Latin America. The announcement was made today by Chris Ottinger, President, International Television Distribution and Acquisitions, MGM. Reporting directly to Ottinger, Vassallo will be responsible for managing the distribution and sales strategy of all MGM content internationally for free television and advertiser-supported video on demand. He will also be responsible for sales of all MGM content in Latin America in all television distribution channels including on demand digital platforms, basic, free and pay television services. Vassallo will assume the responsibilities of Vinicio Espinosa, vice president, Latin America, MGM, who will be exiting the studio at the beginning of 2015 to launch an independent production company initially focused on the Latin American and U.S. Hispanic markets. Based out of Los Angeles, Vassallo, will begin his role on October 1.
