Clients and commercial partners witnessed the official launching of X View, Megacable’s OTT, that in two years of development has had an investment of nearly US$90 million, assured Enrique Yamuni, CEO of the company, who added that this platform is the anwer to the needs of the industry and consumers, who want to see contents when and where they wish.
“The company invests approximately US$270 millions a year in new technologies, in network expansion, innovation and in X View. We have already invested nearly US$90 million (US$45 millon per year) on servers, licenses, tech platforms and set top box terminals, and we will continue to increase the investment next year,” explained Yamuni.
Meanwhile, Gerardo Seifert, General Marketing Director at Megacable, assured that X View is a personalized platform with more than 100 interactive channels and video-on-demand in mobile devices, TV and PC: “This is a new experience for our subscribers, who no longer seek linear channels, but contents, and continue watching the channels they always have. We know people are changing their TV-viewing habits.”
Yamuni added that they have more than 8 thousand hours of content and the possibility of gathering in one single ecosystem other services like YouTube, Google and possibly Netflix.
X View will be available in Mexico, starting in Guadalajara, Veracruz, Puebla and Hermosillo, and in the following four months it will cover more than 30 cities in the country.
