The recent alliance consolidated between Televisa and MGM to create local versions of the format TKO: Total Knock Out through a production hub based in South America, fills Chris Ottinger, president Worldwide Television Distribution and Acquisitions at MGM, with pride. “Televisa is supporting TKO decisively. We are working together in every aspect of the business,” said Ottinger and added that they will soon announce new sales of the series Cóndor and second-window agreements for The Handmaid’s Tale in the region.
During MipTV, MGM will follow two series that were launched during the screenings in London, Perpetual Grace, LTD (10×60′), a modern, dark drama series, starring Sir Ben Kingsley, Jacki Weaver and Jimmi Simpson, and Four Weddings and a Funeral, that follows four US friends who get together at a fabulous wedding in London.
Other titles they are taking to MipTV are the format TKO: Total Knock Out (10×60’), the films Bond with Daniel Craig, that will debut on April 8, 2020; Fighting With My Family with Florence Pugh, Lena Headey, Nick Frost, Jack Lowden, Vince Vaughn and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson —that was released in the US on February 22 — and The Hustle, with Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson, to be released on May 10.
