Hispanic cable network mun2 has the exclusive U.S. premiere of the Spanish language, scripted action series {La Teniente;www.produ.tv/popup.html?noti=6425&id=58744} on Sunday, January 13 at 10pm EST/9pm CST. La Teniente (The Lieutenant) is the Mexican television series that premiered on Azteca 7 in Mexico in September and quickly became one of the top programs in the country. The series has been recognized for its cinematic approach to scripted TV, utilizing extraordinary locations throughout Mexico, diverse scripts and an outstanding cast of top actors in Spanish language TV. The series depicts a Special Operations unit of the Mexican Navy and will be shown on mun2 with English language subtitles.The cast includes María Fernanda Yepes (Rosario Tijeras, Sin Senos No Hay Paraíso) as Lieutenant Roberta Ballesteros, Matías Novoa (Bajo el Alma, Mujer Comprada) as Lieutenant Nicolas Alejo, Héctor Arredondo (Pobre Diabla, Mientras Haya Vida) as Capitan Antonio Volante, Armando Torrea (Pobre Diabla, Prófugas del Destino) as Lieutenant Adan Peña, Sylvia Sáenz (La Loba, Quererte Así) as Lieutenant Luz Idalia Contrarera aka Lucy, and Fernando Sarfati (El Otro Lado Del Alma, Amor en Custodia) as Admiral Francisco Reygadas. The series’ executive producers and creators are Benjamín Salinas and Roberto González, chief writer is Marcelo Tobar. The series is a distributed by Comarex in association with Azteca Mexico and airs in Mexico on broadcast channel Azteca 7. mun2 executives in charge of production are Flavio Morales and Rodrigo Escandón.
