Roselyn Sánchez and Carlos Espejel visited Mexico to promote the series they star in, Familia En Venta, the first Spanish-language comedy of FOX Internacional Channel Latin America produced 100% in the region, premiering March 20th at 9pm on MundoFOX.At a press conference, Jorge Stamadianos, VP of Fiction Development of FOX Internacional Channel Latin America, said that this series is the company’s first experiment with comedy, “it’s a new area for us, and the big challenge was creating a product that made people laugh across the region.”This is the first Spanish-language project in Latin America for Roselyn Sánchez, who said to be embarrassed for not working on projects in her language before: “I’ve been wanting to work in Spanish for years because it’s my native language. When I read the script I laughed a lot and agreed to do it. I hope it’s the first of many, to be able to combine both markets, the U.S. and Latin America.”Dealing with themes like homosexuality and open relationships, Carlos Espejel said the company is closely watching the series; however, “in comedy there is always the risk of offending someone and in this case it’s just a satire of what happens in society.”Lastly, Stamadianos left the door open for a second year, depending on the results of the first season, which will feature 13 one-hour episodes revolving around the story of a divorced couple that continue to live together because of financial reasons.
