MundoFox: We’ll provide Latino entertainment with an American attitude

April 13, 2012

For Emiliano Saccone, being president of the new Hispanic channel MundoFox is a privilege. “It’s a privilege that allowed me to have so many people that I admire in one company, and I am referring not only to my boss and mentor Hernán López, but also to the people whom I have a lot of care and admiration for like our partners at RCN” Saccone expressed to PRODU. The principal differential of the new channel’s programming is centered on what constitutes Fox’s brand DNA: “Entertainment Latino but an American attitude” he said. Saccone took some time to praise and recognize the labor of the leaders of Hispanic network TV in the US, specifically Univision and Telemundo. “I tip my hat to them. I have a lot of respect because I think they are big players and team members”. He explained that the content most representative of MundoFox will be the dramatic series that traditionally are only seen in English. “Since some time ago we’ve been producing dramatic original series in Spanish. This will be a driver of the brand because almost no one else does it”. Although MundoFox will back the productions it has done within the proven infrastructure of Fox in Latin America and RCN, since the beginning there have been plans to produce locally in the US. “We have so many options, but what we don’t find easily is experience in producing weekly dramatic series of an hour in Spanish, yet in an American style”.
