Sergio Lazarov, Spanish director and showrunner, arrived in the US in 2012 after having worked as director and showrunner in his native country. He arrived in Miami where his first project was to direct live shows of La Voz Kids for Telemundo. He is currently the director of El Domo del Dinero for Telemundo.
In 2015 he joined Endemol Shine Latino as Production VP, making projects between Mexico City and Miami.
Lazarov´s main contributions during his stay in the US is to bring back shows like Mira Quién Baila (MQB) for Univision, MasterChef Latino and Gran Hermano for Telemundo. Also noteworthy is his first Emmy in the category Best Non-English Drama Series for the second season of El Vato (Netflix and Telemundo).
“During the shooting of the successful series Nicky Jam: El Ganador (Netflix and Telemundo) I have been able to work with the best crews in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the US, contributing extraordinary quality to the series,” he commented.
His most recent projects include the development of new agreements between content creators in Mexico, Spain, Colombia, and Venezuela. “I am looking forward to what is coming in 2021!” he said.
He is also taking part in the making of the movie Jezabel, by the director Hernán Jabes, together with the producer Adrián Geyer. The film is in the final post-production steps and we “soon hope to be able to share it with the audience”.
