In 2025, Netflix will have at least three new and original Colombian productions in its catalog. The streaming giant revealed that it is set to premiere the second season of Perfil Falso and the new series Medusa and Delirio, all produced with TIS services.
Perfil Falso 2 will bring back the erotic thriller that captivated millions and led non-English language productions on Netflix during its first season. Carolina Miranda, Manuela González, Rodolfo Salas, Lincoln Palomeque, Julián Cerati, and Víctor Mallarino will reprise their roles, with Emmanuel Esparza, Alejandra Borrero, and David Palacio joining the cast.
Medusa will feature Manolo Cardona, Juana Acosta, Carlos Torres, Sebastián Martínez, Mabel Moreno, and Diego Trujillo. The story revolves around a mysterious assassination attempt, where all the characters are suspects, and the victim, Bárbara, returns to uncover who tried to end her life.
Finally, Delirio, inspired by Laura Restrepo’s novel, winner of the Alfaguara Prize in 2004, will come to Netflix with the story of Fernando Aguilar, who fights to help his wife Agustina recover after finding her in a state of delirium upon returning from a trip. The series stars Juan Pablo Raba and Estefanía Piñeres, with Juan Pablo Urrego and Paola Turbay also in the cast.
“The best thing about these projects is the talent behind each one. These incredible actors, who make us excited about the announcement, represent wonderful teams from Netflix and TIS that make it possible to turn dreams into entertainment from Colombia for the world,” said Ángela Suárez, VP of Originals at TIS, in an interview with PRODU.
WHY DOES NETFLIX PRODUCE IN COLOMBIA?
For Netflix, Colombia guarantees high-quality products that will captivate universal audiences. Just to name a few, 2024 releases like La Primera Vez 2 and Secuestro del Vuelo 601 have been part of the global top 10 most-watched content on the platform.
Additionally, the country offers attractive tax incentives like the CINA (Audiovisual Investment Certificate), granted by the Colombian government and administered by Proimágenes Colombia, which provides a tax discount equivalent to 35% of audiovisual spending in the country.
Moreover, thanks to the many international projects made in Colombia, the nation’s industry has experienced teams, such as the talents behind and in front of the cameras that TIS provided for the making of these series.
