Francisco Ramos, VP Original Contents for Latin America and Spain Netflix, explained that even with the pandemic, the platform had productions underway that they will continue launching. He said they were concentrated on having conversations with their partners to define “the new shooting universe”, without this meaning a reduction of the investment or the production rhythm, on the contrary.
“It is about evolving to systems in which we can guarantee the highest security and at the same time, continue producing. There will be impact, changes, but we have no intention of reducing the number of investments. We have made the grounds and continue to think that Mexico is a country where we can produce a lot of contents that are going to enrich the foundation of the system and then, they will be able to travel” he stated.
Along with supporting their partners to finished paused projects, they are thinking about what else they can do; in other productions, he mentioned the second season of Monarca and Control Z along with another series with Lemon Studios.
Ramos, together with Billy Rovzar and Alejandro “El Patas” Lozano, participated in the webinar: El Streaming No Se Detiene: el Arte del Showrunner organized by the Mexican educational institution Centro.
