Univision News, the news division of Univision Communications, Inc, announced today that its flagship evening newscast Noticiero Univision has wrapped up the 2012/2013 season as the fastest-growing broadcast evening newscast. Anchored by journalists Jorge Ramos and María Elena Salinas, Noticiero Univision attracted an average of 2 million Total Viewers 2+, nearly 1 million Adults 25-54 (997,000) and 953,000 Adults 18-49 in the recently concluded season.In the last three consecutive seasons, Univisions evening news program has increased its audience across all Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54. In fact, it finished the 2012/2013 season with strong double-digit audience growth while the English-language broadcast evening news programming reported minimal audience lifts, declines and/or remained flat compared to previous season across all the key demographics.Among the additional 2012/2013 season highlights are the following: Noticiero Univision delivered 15% more Adults 18-34 than CBS Evening News (380,000 vs. 331,000); the newscast drew in a much younger, more engaged and highly unduplicated audience than its English-Language broadcast evening news counterparts: 44 years old vs. 63 years old and 69% of Noticiero Univisions Adult 18-49 viewers did not watch any of the English-Language broadcast evening news programming.Also the program averaged significantly more Hispanic viewers than the combined audience of ABC World News Tonight, CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News.
