Julian Giraldo, EVP of RCNs International Channels
TV Colombia changed this month its name to Nuestra Tele aiming to reach a larger audience within the U.S. Hispanic TV households. RCNs content has been used by U.S. broadcasters like Telemundo, UniMás (when it was TeleFutura) and now MundoFOX to achieve high ratings. That success demonstrates that our content has crossover appeal. We can generate audience from beyond Colombians only to make our service an even more valuable part of your line up, says Julián Giraldo, EVP of RCNs International Channels.Although the channel is keeping its original format, the programming selection is changing. The channel has updated all its day-parts adding new shows and segments to please Colombians as well as Latin Americans in general. In the mornings, in addition to the Colombian newscast, Nuestra Tele will have a 30 min news program dedicated to the most important issues in Latin America: América se Entera. The program will be conducted and directed by the well-known Venezuelan journalist Idania Chirinos. At 4pm ET, the channel will produce from Colombia Viva la Tarde, a daily two-hour magazine Monday to Friday with entertainment news, special studio guests, music and behind the scenes of RCNs productions. Right after this broadcast, Nuestra Tele will air Tenemos Que Hablar, a show with celebrity gossip. A 30 min newscast from Colombia will be on between those two shows.Telenovelas top the list of Nuestra Tele primetime programming. The channel will broadcast the entire saga of El Capo I and II, plus the history of Joe Arroyo, and Hasta Que La Plata Nos Separe. At night, Nuestra Tele turns its attention to the sport fans with a one-hour roundup of the top sporting events in the world and Latin America Charla Técnica host by Argentinian Mariano Olsen.
