Daniel Rodríguez, VP of Itoydani Corporation (‘Ito’ as in Consuelito, as his wife is called, and ‘Dani’ after him), commented that he was concerned that many open TV channels, ´from many countries´ that reduced their staff and continued operating, keep working this way, without reinstating anyone.
Daniel, with 33 years of experience in TV, mainly in distribution, expressed this concern in #PRODUprimetime with Richard Izarra, who presented him as an honest man and a person of integrity, emphasizing that he was one of the first to complain because the navigation of this Mipcom Online+ was not so friendly; it was tedious and delayed for finding contacts.
“I like to say things as they are, always seeking to improve,” he said. Another adversity was not knowing the decision-making power of the new contacts that were made in the digital markets. He expressed his opinion that until the vaccine against covid-19 is available, we will not go back to normal and everything will be experimental. The routine they have created is to use Zoom to serve their clients and show them their offers, as well as search for new buyers in the online marketplaces.
He emphasized that open TV was the most affected by the pandemic because it had suffered a drop in advertisers, as opposed to pay-TV that had sold content like never before.
