The Brazilian production Marcelo, Marmelo, Martelo is one of the titles the company will remove from Paramount+
To maximize the content with the highest impact, Paramount will focus its production strategy on franchises, series, and films from its US studios, which have global appeal and high demand.
The result is fewer local original shows. Paramount’s free-to-air TV channels – Chilevisión in Chile, Telefe in Argentina, Channel 5 in the United Kingdom, and Network 10 in Australia – will continue to produce their content.
The company will kill some current and future titles of Paramount+, such as the film At Midnight with Diego Boneta and Mónica Barbaro; the Brazilian Marcelo, Marmelo, Martelo, the British No Escape; and Miss Fallaci, Zeit Verbrechen and Turmschatten.
This strategy of reducing local original production is not exclusive to Paramount since other big players such as Netflix, Disney, and Warner Bros. Discovery have also done the same in recent months.
