In a report from Parrot Analytics on the main titles and franchises of television for children in the US, Canada, and Mexico, they concluded that this content is reasonably universal in the three markets.
In Mexico, the most requested title is Star vs. Las Fuerzas Del Mal, followed by Spongebob Squarepants, after that, Gravity Falls and Star Wars Rebels. However, regarding franchises, the list of the favorite ones in Mexico has some differences with the US and Canada, although Star Wars continues to be the most requested.
The children´s franchise Ben 10 performs better in Mexico, where it is the fifth most requested. Dora the Explorer is more requested there than in the US and Canada, in response to the main Hispanic character.
The report pointed out that the US is a dominant forcé, both in production and in consumption of children’s content in North America.
Comparing the three markets, it was revealed that the average demand per title in Canada is just 49% of that in the US, whereas in Mexico the request per title is 55% of that in the US.
The average of Mexico´s demand for children´s TV franchises is just down to 33% of that in the US.
