Jencarlos Canela spoke to PRODU about Pasión Prohibida, the Telemundo novela where he co-stars with Mónica Spear and Rebeca Jones. He also spoke about his upcoming album and his plans for the future.“When I heard the writer was Juan Camilo Ferrand, I thought it was interesting that he would go from a story such as El patrón del mal to a love story,” said Canela.“Once I started reading it I could not stop. It is well executed; it has a constant crescendo of suspense, of different emotions. Each character has a very deep universe, and it’s a good indication when the lead roles don’t have to carry the entire weight of the story,” he added. Regarding his experience with director Vicente Albarracín and producer Carmen Cecilia Urbaneja, the Cuban-American actor said: “Vicente is an excellent director; he knows what he’s doing, he is immersed in the story, and the good thing is that he allows you to be you while still providing guidance. Carmen is one of the best producers I’ve ever worked with. She’s always present but never invade your space; she respects the work but still gives her opinion. I find the way she works fascinating.”Simultaneously, Canela is putting the final touches on his upcoming album Un Nuevo Día. After the novela wraps production, he plans to move to Los Angeles to aim his career to the big screen.
