Televisa announced that Patricio Wills will lead Televisa’s Content Production area in his new position as president of Televisa Estudios, where he will have the responsibility of giving continuity and robustness to the content renovation process that the company began at the start of 2017.
Wills will report to Isaac Lee, Chief Content Officer at Televisa and Univision, and his responsibilities will include supervision of talent, development, and production of all the contents that Televisa makes for open and pay television.
Wills has more than 30 years of experience in international production and is one of the most renown makers of contemporary series in Spanish. Throughout his career, he has worked with several of the most outstanding Latin American authors, including the winners of Literature Nobel Prize, Gabriel García Márquez, and Mario Vargas Llosa.
Wills has vast executive experience. He was executive director and partner of Producciones RTI in Colombia, President and creator at Telemundo Studios, and in 2016 he created, together with Univision, the company W Studios, the production company he is president of. For Televisa, he produced La Piloto, one of the most successful productions in 2017, that reached the first places in terms of audience in Mexico and the US. W Studios is working on several projects for Univisión and Grupo Televisa, such as La Piloto 2, El Último Dragón and La Bella y Las Bestias.
Meanwhile, Rosy Ocampo will leave her executive obligations to focus on the production of different and innovative content, including several projects that will be made in Los Angeles.
