Drama and comedy will find their place with Betty la Fea, a new series produced by Estudios RCN for Prime Video. This Wednesday, the 8th, the streaming service announced through its social media that the sequel to the renowned telenovela Yo Soy Betty, la Fea will be available starting next Friday, July 19.
This content will tell the story of the iconic Beatriz Pinzón Solano (Betty la Fea) 20 years after the conclusion of the original series. While the empowered Betty remains married to her husband and company leader, Armando Mendoza, she rebuilds her relationship with her teenage daughter Mila and tries to navigate the crisis of her family company, questioning whether she chose the path that truly made her happy 20 years ago.

The project will star the same actors from the original story, Ana María Orozco (Cochina Envidia) and Jorge Enrique Abello (Ana de Nadie). It is worth noting that on Monday, May 6th, a video was posted on Prime Video Latin America’s Instagram account featuring Orozco and Abello, along with actress Lorna Cepeda. The artists challenged followers to reach one million likes on the post to reveal the release date.
That goal was surpassed, and now fans know how long they must wait to see the return of this universe created by writer Fernando Gaitán.
The development and script of this dramedy are by Marta Betoldi (Ciega a Citas, Las Estrellas), Juan Carlos Pérez (Garzón), and César Betancur (Las Hermanitas Calle, La Selección). Valeria Gómez (Manes) and Luis Carlos Ávila (La Reina del Flow) also contribute to the scripts.
The direction is by Mauricio Cruz Fortunato (Manes, Café con Aroma de Mujer, 2020). The executive production is by Juan Pablo Posada and Yalile Giordanelli (Ana de Nadie, Hasta que la Plata Nos Separe, 2022), with Ana María Orozco and Jorge Enrique Abello participating as associate producers. Production supervision is by Andrés Posada and Ana María Londoño.
The cast includes other actors from the original cast, such as Natalia Ramírez, Mario Duarte, Jorge Herrera, Julián Arango, Luis Mesa, and Julio César Herrera, among others.
Additionally, this new part of the most successful telenovela in history, according to Guinness Records, will also star Rodrigo Candamil (La Ley del Corazón), Juanita Molina (Romina Poderosa, Te la Dedico), Zharick León (Pasión de Gavilanes, La Viuda de Blanco), Sebastián Osorio (La Nieta Elegida, Pambelé, Pasión de Gavilanes) and Jerónimo Cantillo (Pasión de Gavilanes).
