Alexis Núñez, executive producer of Televisa, worked for several months last year as consultant for Univisión’s Content and Production Formats, overseeing Despierta América and El Gordo y la Flaca.He spoke to PRODU about the success achieved by the morning show Despierta América, due to the implementation of format changes last year.“At Despierta América, I established a way to build show content following the strategy of surprising viewers minute by minute, bringing back happiness and excitement to their mornings. I found a talented and efficient production team that needed to rediscover entertainment as a climax, improving the rhythm and the flow of the show, making sure hosts infuse over the course of four hours live, the enthusiasm that viewers expect and deserve,” said Núñez.Núñez said he developed specific strategies for production organization and efficiency, and found the support and experience of executive producer Luz María Doria and her team.“To this day, the formula established is exceeding our expectations. Despierta América has had several months of continued growth, and in the past 30 days it even eroded some the audience of its general market competitors,” he added.Núñez said the success achieved by Despierta América is a testament of the expertise Televisa can bring to any Spanish-language television company in the handling of content, and the formatting of production and entertainment.
