Marco Antonio Regil hosts 100 Latinos Dijeron and is now developing an animated series
Host of 100 Latinos Dijeron and 30-year TV veteran Marco Antonio Regil told PRODU he is developing with producers Rick Najera and Michael Hughes (Futurama), the pilot for an animated series for Hispanics in the U.S. They are currently looking for Mexican production companies such as Ánima Estudios and networks such as FOX or NBC.Were producing the pilot of an animated series similar to Family Guy or The Simpsons, but now focused on the Hispanic culture. Its a family show created, written and voiced by Latinos, but in English. Were already in conversations with animation studios in the U.S. and Canada, although I would love to work with Ánima Estudios because its a great Mexican studio, said Regil.He announced the pilot may be ready to pitch to major networks by end of 2014. However, he doesnt rule out the possibility of taking the series to new platforms such as Netflix or Hulu.Our strong candidate would be FOX because theyre familiar with animated series, but there are also NBC and CBS. If its none of them, there are also the platforms Netflix and Hulu, which have become relevant, added Regil.He said that on November 3rd, he will start shooting 190 new episodes of 100 Latinos Dijeron, show that already has 300 episodes produced for FOX Latinoamérica and MundoFOX, the first 100 of which are airing in Mexico on Televisa.
