Alejandro Mercado, CEO of PX Sports, and presenter Hany Portocarrero offered details of the program El Play Room, made in partnership with The Mediapro and currently broadcast on this channel every Thursday at 7:30 pm. It’s content that combines extreme sports with music and gaming, and they seek to change how TV is viewed.
“It’s an easy-to-digest content that brings together these three worlds, that seeks to be irreverent and change the way TV is viewed, in addition to having The Mediapro as allies with all its technology and experience in international production and we provide the creative part,” said Mercado.
He stated that since the channel was created ten years ago, it has managed to innovate by bringing extreme sports to TV, and from there, they have followed trends and listened to the audience’s needs. Therefore, he said that El Play Room is an example of what they are asking for: “If operators want to bring back the audience to TV with different brands, they have to innovate with companies that understand what millennials, centennials, and new generations are asking for.”
And he highlighted that they continue their commitment to pay TV, which he considered is only mutating and adapting: “Cable has to adapt to these changes and will resurface with channels like PX Sports, a differentiating signal, where everything we do has a theme of social inclusion to change communities and motivate young people that, through sports, music and video games, can achieve their dreams.”
Portocarrero explained that within the program there are three presenters, one specialist in the music of all kinds of genres, who is also a DJ; Hanny herself who is a presenter and the sports expert, as well as a video game specialist, “achieving a perfect match to make superlight and easy-to-watch content, with outstanding technology and with which we are sure many people can feel identified.”
