Discovery U.S. Hispanic’s portfolio – comprised of Discovery en Español and Discovery Familia – closed out April 2020 with double-digit rating growth in L+3 viewership among the key P25-54 demo.
Discovery en Español was up in Total Day (+29%) and in Prime (+17%) among P25-54. The network also gained among M25-54 and M18-49, ranking #2 in Total Day and Prime. Top performing titles include Covid 19: Pandemia 2020, La Peor Pesadilla, Alaska: Hombres Primitivos, and original production Mexicánicos.
Among P25-54, Discovery Familia saw high gains in Total Day (+63%) and Prime (+65%) and was the #1 Spanish language pay-TV network in ATS among P25-54 and P18-49. Led by Hermanos A La Obra, Christina En La Playa, Remodelación En Pareja and Kilos Mortales, the network was #2 in prime among W18-49 on Fridays and #2 among W25-54 and W18-49 on Saturdays. Discovery Familia is also solidly ranked #4 across almost all demos.
The networks’ performance contributed to a strong month for parent company Discovery, Inc., which was the #1 portfolio of pay-TV networks in L+3 viewership. With overall viewing down for both cable and broadcast, eleven of Discovery’s networks grew by double digits in primetime among P25-54, including Discovery en Español and Discovery Familia. No other pay-TV portfolio claimed more than four networks with double-digit growth.
