La Casa de los Famosos Colombia, a new local version of the franchise, will premiere on RCN on Sunday, February 11, at 8 pm. During an event in Bogota, presenters Cristina Hurtado and Carla Giraldo said the show will be broadcast on open television from Monday to Friday at 9pm and 8pm on weekends.
ViX streaming service will offer a live signal of the content 24/7 through nine exclusive channels. In this format (property of Banijay Rights), 22 celebrities will live together under one roof and must overcome several physical and psychological tests to win a prize of 400 million pesos (US$100 thousand). In the process, over 50 cameras and microphones will follow their steps to capture all the details of their life.
During the event, José Antonio de Brigard (president of RCN) and Rafael Urbina (CEO of ViX) agreed that the alliance between both entities (July 2023) brought benefits to the parties involved. De Brigard highlighted the importance of taking the reality show to Colombia: “We are happy with the launch. For a long time, we looked for a format where the audiences and brands could participate. With this, we advance a new business model that mixes open TV and digital platforms.”
La Casa de los Famosos Colombia brings special content hosted by actress Lina Tejeiro and creator Roberto Velásquez and broadcast on ViX. Among these materials, “La Previa” and “The Aftershow” stand out, taking place before and after the RCN galas. Actor Emanuel Restrepo will be the digital host reporting on the show news across social networks while playing Carmelo Rendón, his character in the series Rigo.
Actress Isabella Santiago, who starred in the series Lala’s Spa, will join as a new participant in the show. Santiago wondered about what the competition would be like with her future colleagues.
The press conference following the presentation included the 11 contestants who have confirmed their participation in the show, such as La Segura, Martha Isabel Bolaños, Julián Trujillo, Camilo Díaz, Ornella Sierra, Sebastián Gutiérrez, José Miel, Miguel Melfi, Omar Murillo and Diana Ángel (in addition to Santiago).
To close the event, the journalists took a guided tour through the 1,400 square meter house that will also work as a TV studio.
