With the screenings of Feeling China from the Feeling China Pavlion, Dancing Planet by Signal Media Russia and the Turkish series Wings of Love, distributed by FOX Networks Group Content Distribution, on Tuesday November 15 the third edition of MipCancún began. It gathers buyers, producers and distributors from November 16 to 18 at the Grand Fiesta Americana Hotel.
“In the first edition of MipCancún there were only 90 people and this year more than 500 will attend, including nearly 140 distributors, who are part of a special format called ‛one to one’, where they sit together with the buyers. This event allows to gather the Latin American community and here they will meet people that they will not see at Mipcom. This is a growing market,” commented Ted Baracos, director of Market Development at Reed Midem, MipCancún organizing company.
When the screenings ended, they held the inaugural cocktail party, sponsored by The Kitchen.
On Wednesday November 16 there were a series of conferences such as: Understanding Generation Z: Fans Prefer Content to Linear Channels; and Rethinking Content: Discovering New Creativity Thanks to New Voices.
Additionally, there will be Creative and Data talks: Handling the Future of Storytelling; Adaptations and Remakes: Learn how to Increase Ratings; Short Format: The Secret of Great Success and Looking for Talent on the Web: Learn from Digital Experts. There will also be plenary sessions and the panel Programming Strategies for 2017.
