RTI launches a premium content division headed by writer-producer Hernán Rodríguez Matte

RTI announces a new premium content division headed by renowned writer-producer Hernán Rodríguez Matte.RTI’s extensive knowledge in telenovelas such as La Reina del Sur (Telemundo), combined with writer-producer Hernán Rodríguez Matte´s experience in the area of premium content, which includes Bienvenida Realidad (Sony Pictures Television), Diarios Secretos de una Profesional (Endemol), and Prófugos (HBO) among other series, will establish a seal of approval on new productions. “The Latin-American market is demanding higher quality programming, not just in terms of production but also in terms of story. This new development division will focus on original series as well as scripted formats”, stated Rodríguez Matte from RTI’s Miami offices. His experience as creator and show-runner of the successful series La Colonia from Chilean network Mega, and later as head of development at TVN, gives Rodríguez Matte a broad understanding of the industry. The division has already started developing high-budget fiction projects and TV movies for some cable and OTT clients that will soon be ready to enter into the Spanish-speaking market. “We look forward to enhance our productions with this new division and complement the programming which RTI has been making up to this point,” said Ana Bond, VP of Business Development and Legal Affairs from RTI. RTI has substantial experience, with over 13,000 production hours mainly in telenovelas. This new content division will complement RTI’s recent production deal of 150 hours with top Latin-American Network Televisa. “Hernán’s arrival at our Miami branch is part of our strategic goal to position RTI as a production company with a focus on premium content”, states Bond. Rodríguez Matte will oversee this new division focused on cable and OTT for Latin America.
