RTVE’s Commercial Management Department has reached an agreement with RightsTrade to make flagship programmes from its extensive catalog available to international content buyers.
The agreement will bring greater visibility and international exposure for the Corporation’s best content and expand the range of audiovisual content offered by the Californian technology firm.
More than 20,000 hours of programming, covering all production genres, are offered through the platform, which will now include the latest prime-time series from RTVE, such as El Continental, La Otra Mirada, Sabuesos, Gran Reserva, Traición, and daily series such as Acacias 38, Seis Hermanas and ServIr y Proteger. There will also be documentaries available in 4K, including La Pasión del Prado and Ciudades Españolas Patrimonio de la Humanidad, as well as films, entertainment and music programmes, game shows and more.
According to María Jesús Pérez, RTVE’s International Sales Director, “at a time when Spanish audiovisual content is in constant and increasing demand across the globe, joining RightsTrade offers us a unique opportunity to boost international sales of our programmes and optimize distribution processes through its innovative online tools”.
Jaime Otero, RightsTrade’s Managing director, said: “The incorporation of RTVE reinforces our content globalization strategy and confirms our mission to consolidate our position as the leading online market for the best audiovisual content in the world”.
From November, buyers registered with the RightsTrade online market, from more than 5,000 companies in the audiovisual sector, will be able to access RTVE content and acquire broadcasting rights for this content in territories where it is available.
