Sabbatical Entertainment, with less than two years in the market, has produced 200 hours of original productions. They are expanding the business to include new genres like religion, crime, celebrities, and sports.
“We have signed several agreements with producers in countries like Argentina, Colombia, Spain, the US, and Mexico, where each one is going to be a new source of content that is perfect for Sabbatical. We want to complement our library with the genres we haven´t touched,” comments Miguel Somoza, CEO, and president of the company.
He mentioned they have great expectations with the second edition of the special Lo Mejor de lo Mejor since it has been sold to five clients. “We produced it last year with Imagen Televisión in Mexico. Channel 22 in Los Angeles also aired it. It is a very international product, very nice, that requires a long time because it is produced throughout the whole year. It is great content for the end of the year,” he expressed.
He added that they have five documentaries ready, and in 2019 others are coming, such as the one on Somoza, the 50th anniversary of Woodstock and a documental on royalty.
For next year, they are also developing the series Santuarios. “It is a very dynamic series on temples, synagogues, mosques, and churches of the world. It is a hybrid between capsules and episodic series. There are 15 episodes on mosques, synagogues, churches that generate an hour of episodic series on each religion. Mixed under the umbrella of Santuarios, it will be a 13-episode series”. The project will be ready for April 2019.
