Aniversario 17 de Viendomovies

ViendoMovies of SOMOS TV celebrates its 17th anniversary after it began broadcasting in September 2006, becoming a relevant window on the film industry in the US and Puerto Rico.

The channel, scheduling exclusive contemporary films in Spanish from all Spanish-speaking countries, stands out for its premium presence on-air distributed by the major cable, satellite, and telecommunications companies.

“In this anniversary month, we celebrate another important date for ViendoMovies and appreciate the receptivity in the US and Puerto Rico. We are proud to offer the best of movies originally produced in Spanish in a competitive signal with the best TV quality worldwide and with the commitment of all our staff to continue this satisfying task of providing exclusive entertainment in all genres. We hope to continue celebrating this date with joy for many years, offering the best television from the technical and content point of view,” said Luis Villanueva, president and CEO of SOMOS Group.

Since the launch of ViendoMovies, the channel capitalized on an existing opportunity in the scarce distribution of Spanish-language films on pay TV in the US. “This reality, together with the love of Latinos for cinema in general, founded the positive reception that ViendoMovies received among the audience and the growth of its distribution,” said the company in a statement.

ViendoMovies displays attractive films for the diverse audience of the Hispanic community, with productions from Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Spain, with talents that have crossed borders to reach Hollywood cinema such as Penelope Cruz, Antonio Banderas, Gael Garcia Bernal, Diego Luna, Mario Casas, Clara Lago, and Angie Cepeda, among others.

The channel is produced in high definition and original masters. The content includes close captions in English, which increases its appeal among fans of independent cinema and the audience of bilingual homes. ViendoMovies is available for streaming on TV everywhere, enabling it to be enjoyed on all Internet-connected devices and delivers a robust number of VOD movies to its customers.

In this anniversary month, ViendoMovies celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month from Friday, October 15 to Sunday, October 15, with films such as Hotel Coppelia (Dominican Republic, directed by José María Cabral, starring Lumi Lizardo and Nashla Bogaert), Y No Matarás (Spain, starring Mario Casas), La Chica de Alquiler (Venezuela) and Ama (Spain).

The network also celebrates the Independence of Mexico on Saturday the 16th with a selection of high-quality Mexican films: No Quiero Dormir Sola, Érase una vez en Durango, Besos de Azúcar, Hilda, Campeones México Sub 17, Juan y Vanessa, Siete Años de Matrimonio, El Último Trago and Club Sandwich.
