Semillitas, owned by SOMOS TV, is about to be launched in Mexico. Valentina Verde, the coordinator of the channel, made the announcement in the framework of the Kidscreen Summit and recalled that it will reach a new anniversary in December.
“We are in the US, Central America and about to enter Mexico. Talks are pretty advanced regarding traditional distribution with pay TV operators” she said.
In Kidscreen they are looking for branded content, known and with animation quality in 3D and 2D.
“We have seen interesting things, most of all content that identifies with Semillita, a channel in Spanish where language is critical, with family values and non-violence, which has been its trademark since its inception 12 years ago,” she said.
For its anniversary in December, Verde is looking to premiere a new series. “We are evaluating which one we are going to buy,” she said.
As a big release for August, they have the Turkish animated series, Dumper, and Skoop, by Mavi Baykus, which debuts on the 20th.
“It is a series that was on Discovery Kids and it is beautiful, also it’s very similar to the famous Toy Story. It features carts and dolls that come to life when the boy at the home falls asleep. It is dubbed into neutral Spanish. It’s 52 episodes of 11 minutes long” she explained.
