Shark Tank is coming for the first time to Latin America

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and Claro Video have commissioned a Mexican adaptation of the award-winning format Shark Tank. This is coming for the first time to Latin America under the title Shark Tank Mexico: Negociando con tiburones. The premiere will be in mid 2016 on Sony Channel and Claro Video. First the series will air on SPT Network´s Sony Channel and then the episodes will be available on Claro Video´s SVOD. This format is coproduced by SPT´s Teleset, SPT Networks and Claro Video with the production of the first 13 episodes planned to start in early April in Mexico. Shark Tank is now present in 42 territories and six continents. “Shark Tank has distinguished itself in the crowded global formats market by blending high stakes negotiations with an intelligent and inspiring entrepreneurial message,” said Alexander Marin, executive vice president of International Distribution, Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada for SPT. “The format is perfect for Latin America because of its proven ability to draw family viewers and build its audience season to season.”Shark Tank or Dragon´s Den as the format is known in a number of markets, give entrepreneurs the chance to get the support from some of the most successful venture capitalists and to secure financial investment to build their idea or business.
