Sony Pictures Television (SPT) announced today that it will begin production in Mexico on the incredible story of La Bandida (62×60’), the famed revolutionary.

Sandra Echeverría (La Querida del Centauro, El Clon) will star alongside Ianis Guerrero (Blue Demon, Club de Cuervos, Nosotros los Nobles) as José Hernández, Albi de Abreu (El Comandante, La Querida del Centauro) as Tommy Barton, and Iván Arana (El Señor de los Cielos, La Querida del Centauro) as Pedro Núñez.

La Bandida is directed by Mauricio Cruz (Blue Demon, La Reina del Sur) and Rodrigo Ugalde (Blue Demon), written by Carlos Quintanilla (Sin Rastro de Ti, Rosario Tijeras Mexico, Paramédicos) and Adriana Pelussi (Sin Rastro de Ti, Rosario Tijeras Mexico, El Capitán, Paramédicos), and executive produced by Andrés Santamaría (La Querida del Centauro, Pasión de Gavilanes, El Clon).

This period drama is based on the life of Graciela Olmos, a rebellious child who refused to accept the hand fate had given her, and grew to become an icon, owner of the most important brothel in Mexico City. Never in her wildest dreams did the obstacles in her life lead her to believe that she’d become one of the most influential women of Mexican culture and politics.
