Sony Pictures Television: Top Chef México will change the way gastronomy is seen in this country

Sony Pictures Television presented the first season of Top Chef México (13×60’), next Sunday February 21st at 8:30pm, with a simultaneous debut on AXN. According to their makers, this first season will enhance Mexican flavors and traditions, joining film techniques with the world of gastronomy.“At Sony we are betting on production quality and when we decided to produce things in Mexico we wanted them to be of the highest level in order to generate successful projects. In the US this format is an icon and we think it is one of the programs that in Mexico will change the way people see gastronomy”, mentioned José Antonio Hidalgo, VP and general manager of Sony Pictures Television Mexico.Meanwhile Daniel Gruener, founder of Cinemateli Content, production company in charge of developing this format for Mexico, mentioned that, as opposed to other editions, “in this version we join the world of film with that of gastronomy. This type of show implies a challenge and we have the chance to talk about this country, showing its most beautiful aspects like its cuisine, that encompass our identity”, he added.Conducted by Ana Claudia Talancón, the judges of the emission will be the chefs Martha Ortiz, Guillermo González, Juantxo Sánchez and Aquiles Chávez, who will choose the Top Chef México among 16 contestants.For the shooting eight Sony, a cable cam, three drones and four Go pro cameras will be used. The main sponsors are the brands Vips, Chedraui, Turín and Nutrioli.
