SPT Latin America is launching at MIPCOM, La Guzmán, a series inspired by the life of Alejandra Guzmán and Jade, a vintage production about an impossible love and the clash between two cultures; among other things.
According to Ana Bond, senior VP and general director of International Production, the company is currently working on several projects simultaneously: a project for Telemundo tentatively entitled El Barón, produced between Mexico, Colombia and New York, a super production filled with action and adrenaline, and for Televisa they are producing a Mexican version of La Reina del Flow, a musical project they produced for Caracol, which is a hit on the Colombian network.
“With Clarovideo we are fine-tuning the concept of a new short comedy of two seasons and 13 episodes, following the success of El Rey del Valle” she added.
Bond highlighted that Latin America has historically been a very important region for Sony and today represents an opportunity for even greater growth for both formats and finished products.
About the growth of digital platforms, Bond said that their presence is of utmost importance in order to offer a variety of content. “However, our focus is on having a variety of projects, short, long and, premium, for all our customers whether they are on open TV digital platforms” she concluded.
