Ana Bond, SVP and general director for Latin America and US Hispanic, Sony, said that María Magdalena is a series that answers to the market’s need for historical, epic series.
“It’s the first foray into this type of product to see how it goes. We are moving forward in a couple of new developments on the same line of sandals and sand.”
Bond attended MIPCOM searching for the best content quality, from the operational and creative point of view.
She also explained that it has helped them to have a coherent strategy throughout the region. “There is a time to rethink how we have been doing things.”
The idea, she said, is to build a creative development arm where you can have access to that gender diversity.
Regarding the productions they are showcasing, she said that El Rey del Valle” is their first short series, “it’s a great comedy, a mockery of all the ‘narcos’ that we see in the market.”
Bond added that others pieces are also coming, such as “the comedy that has by working title Escuela para Galanes (School for Gallants),” that will begin production in April next year, also with Claro video.
