Sony Pictures Televisión announced a special to celebrate the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the new film by Quentin Tarantino. Canal Sony and AXN will air Once Upon a time in Hollywood and Quentin Tarantino Presents the Swinging Sixties, a series of nine films from the Columbia Pictures collection (property of Sony, personally chosen by the writer and director, and which served as an inspiration for the creation of his latest film.)”
Each one of the screenings of the film will be accompanied by comments and conversations between Tarantino and the outstanding writer and historian Kim Morgan; additionally, the director will share audience advances and scenes from his latest production, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Al Pacino.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer these classical films from our collection on Canal Sony and AXN, that influenced the brilliant work of Quentin Tarantino,” said Alexander Marín, executive VP of Distribution and Channels at SPT in Latin America and Canada.
“Sony Pictures made their Columbia Pictures catalog available to me so that I could choose among a series of films, some of them representative of the period in which Once Upon a time in Hollywood unfolds. I am thrilled to present those films and enjoy them together with the audience,” said Tarantino.
The special will be aired every night from Monday, August 5 to Sunday, August 11 as a prelude to the launch of the film in theaters, which is planned for August 16. The movies include Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, Cactus Flower, Easy Rider, Model Shop, Getting Straight, Arizona’s Raiders, among others.
