For Telefims, 2018 was a year of consolidation in all the areas of the company. This is what Tomás Darcyl, president de Telefilms, reported.
Darcyl commented that with THR3 Group, a partnership with Bruce Boren (former-Televisa) they have made several films like the remake of Mi Mamá Se Fue de Viaje, with which they have many expectations, and another one called Polvo, as well as three more that are going to be launched in 2019. The aim is to release an average of five films per year in Mexico.
Regarding television production, they are in the last phase of the pre-production of El Santo, that will have 20 episodes, and of Mojados, with 10 episodes, as well as Nini, also with 10 episodes.
He announced several new series that are coming soon.
They are also producing in Brazil, through a partnership with the production company Galería, owned by Gabriel Gurman and Silvia Cruz.
“We feel that in this new landscape with big players that are coming in, and a huge market growth, we have to live up to live up to the market´s expectations and although we are very strong with Hollywood films, we feel it is essential to have local films and production in big markets such as Mexico and Brazil, that today represent 85% of the business,” pointed out Darcyl.
As for the films they will launch in 2019, which they will also take to NATPE, Darcyl highlighted Green Book, Uglydolls, After, Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark, and Midway.
