The second season of Telemundo’s highly rated super series El Señor de los Cielos ended on a season high, averaging 3,186,000 Total Viewers and 1,956,000 Adults 18 to 49 in its finale night, according to Nielsen. The series is produced by Telemundo Studios and filmed by Argos Televisión.Starring Rafael Amaya as Aurelio Casillas, the finale ranked as the #1 in Spanish language broadcast network program in its time slot, outperforming its closest competitor by 78% among Adults 18 to 49. In addition, the original series outperformed its closest competitor during the last four weeks, among Adults 18 to 49 garnering a 49% share of Spanish-language broadcast television. El Señor de los Cielos exemplifies Telemundo’s innovative super series concept -returning scripted drama series that are edgier, action packed and faster pace than traditional novelas.On the digital front, the finale was the #1 most-buzzed-about show among Spanish-language network shows on several key metrics including unique authors, tweets and Twitter impressions, according to Nielsen Social. Over 3,000 unique authors tweeted about the show, generating over 9,000 Tweets and 221,000 Twitter impressions. The second season of El Señor de los Cielos was Telemundo’s most successful series across all its digital platforms having reached 3 million unique users across online and mobile, and generated 52 million page views and 21 million video streams.
