Telemundo and Sony Pictures Television kick-off production of Una Maid en Manhattan

Telemundo Studios and Sony Pictures Television (SPT) started the production of Una Maid en Manhattan, their new primetime novela that premieres this fall on Telemundo. Starring Litzy and Eugenio Siller, this original novela tapes in Miami, New York, Los Angeles and Mexico.Una Maid en Manhattan tells the story of Marisa Luján (Litzy), a brave and enterprising young Mexican mother who, due to certain circumstances in her life, migrates to the United States with her 10 year old son, Lalo (Jorge Eduardo). After settling down in Los Angeles, Marisa moves to Manhattan, where she starts working as a maid in one of the Big Apple’s most prestigious hotels; but a twist of fate will lead her to know true love when she meets Cristóbal Parker Salas (Eugenio Siller).The novela is based on the movie Maid in Manhattan, produced by Revolution Studios and distributed by SPT.“This co-production, leverages both SPT’s and Telemundo’s renowned track records for producing first-rate, high-quality content and provides us with the opportunity to compile the best talent both in front of and behind the camera,” said Joshua Mintz, senior executive vice president, Telemundo Entertainment.“The compelling love story combined with well-known stars and high-quality production value will capture a wide variety of audiences in the region,” said Donna Cunningham, managing director and EVP, production, Latin America/US Hispanic, SPT. The theme song of the novela will be performed by Litzy and Eugenio Siller. This production is directed by Nicolás de Blassi and Jaime Segura; general producer is Mariana Iskandarani. The story is adapted by Luis Zelkowics. The executive producer is Aurelio Valcárcel- Carrol (La Casa de al Lado, ¿Dónde está Elisa?).
