An agreement between U.S. Soccer and Telemundo will treat soccer fans nationwide to live Spanish-language coverage of the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup’s Semifinals and Final exclusively on Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock.
Adding to its robust offering of live sports events, the network secured the exclusive Spanish-language rights to broadcast the final three high-stakes games of U.S. Soccer’s National Championship.
Live coverage of the tournament Semifinals on Wednesday, Aug. 23 begins with FC Cincinnati, the team with the best record in the MLS, hosting Inter Miami CF and Lionel Messi. Coverage begins at 7pm ET on Telemundo and Peacock. The action continues with Mexico star Héctor Herrera and the Houston Dynamo FC welcoming Real Salt Lake, a team featuring a roster with players from 10 Latin American countries. Coverage begins at 9:30pm ET on Universo and Peacock.
The Semifinal broadcasts mark the first domestic Spanish-language coverage of the Open Cup since 2018 Final and will augment the competition’s continued growth now in its 108th edition. This year’s competition has seen multiple attendance records set as well as strong viewership throughout each round of play.
The 2023 U.S. Open Cup Final, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 27, will be broadcast live and streamed on Peacock. Additional Telemundo coverage and broadcast details for the 2023 U.S. Open Cup Final will be announced at a later date.
