With a red carpet including the entire cast at the San Hipólito Convent in Mexico, Telemundo launched El Señor de Los Cielos 8 which will be broadcast in the US beginning Tuesday the 17th at 9pm/8c. During the event, a trailer of a summary of what will be the first week of the series was screened.
For Karen Barroeta, EVP Development and Production, Telemundo Global Studios, the series, which is produced in Mexico, comes this season with everything, “heart, passion, action, adrenaline. “Being able to be here with more than 45 incredible actors, the return of Rafael Amaya is wonderful. We are very excited to share this with all the press in Mexico and it fills us with emotion because we know they appreciate this franchise that was born in Mexico and that for more than 700 episodes, has thrilled audiences around the world. In addition to winning an Emmy, it is the story that has positioned itself as the number one in primetime in the US, and today we celebrate it here in Mexico. We are going to premiere very soon on Telemundo in the US, but I am sure that it will reach this territory very soon,” she said during the launching event.
More than 350 locations were used to recreate this story and it was still filmed with very strict protocols. “It is a season that triples what has been done in the past,” she highlighted.
Luis Zelkowicz, the screenwriter of the series, said that he has created a story where “our dear Aurelio Casillas is going to feel for the first time that he wants to get out of the business, because he also falls in love with a very beautiful woman this season, and he will also have new enemies and new allies.”
