Telemundo announced it’s expanding its streaming brand, Tplus, by going into the SVOD and AVOD spaces, focusing on reaching the entire spectrum of US Latinos.
In AVOD, Tplus will increase its free ad-supported (FAST) channel offerings. In addition to the news-focused Noticias Telemundo Ahora channel, Tplus will launch a sports-focused channel, Telemundo Deportes Ahora.
Noticias Telemundo Ahora is a 24/7 premium Spanish-language news channel that leverages the network’s news resources and features breaking news, specials, current affairs, and insights about the major information through the lens of the US Hispanic.
Telemundo Deportes Now aims to become the best bilingual streaming destination for sports fans, with content produced by the Telemundo Deportes team, including pre-game and post-game analysis, original programs, and all that content demanded by the fans of the most important sports competitions of Telemundo.
Tplus also announced it would be launching entertainment FAST channels later this year.
Telemundo’s Tplus continues to develop new original productions alongside the biggest names in Latino entertainment, including the recently launched limited series Menéndez & Menudo: Boys Betrayed on Peacock.
In addition, Tplus announced an exclusive first-look deal with Wilmer Valderrama’s WV Entertainment. Managed by Jessica Acevedo, WVE’s SVP of Production and Development, this alliance will bring Hispanic-led TV projects to SVOD services for Hispanic audiences around the world.
Among the original programming of Tplus on Peacock Originals are Reggaeton: El Sonido que Conquistó el Mundo; 90 Minutos: Benito “El Veneno” Montoya; and Gente Sana by Exile Content Studio and NBC News with J Balvin on his journey to mental health.
