Telemundo Internacional announced an international licensing agreement with Netflix, which will enable the streaming of productions from Telemundo Internacional’s library to subscribers all across Latin America. The deal includes more than 1,200 hours per year of Telemundo’s top original productions including top-rated properties such as La Reina del Sur (The Queen of the South), which is already set for Netflix’s premiere launch in Latin America in the SVOD platform on all connected devices later in the year.“We are very proud to be working with Netflix and will fully support their international expansion strategy, working closely with their executives, to provide the best content Telemundo has to offer. The growth of Netflix’s SVOD platform is on our priority list as part of our expansion into all new media and emerging platforms,” said Luis Daniel Capriles, VP of International Digital Media at Telemundo Internacional. This agreement will allow Telemundo Internacional to analyze viewer demand response on a year-by-year basis, allowing the company to be more selective with its content and fullfill its audience’s needs. Netflix members will benefit from a wide range of compelling Telemundo content that’s already proven popular with the U.S. Hispanic audience and around the world.
