Telemundo continues to innovate and bring the best stories to U.S. Hispanic television with two cutting-edge biopic series based on internationally bigger-than-life Hispanic figures, including Puerto Rican urban music star Nicky Jam and Mexican singer-songwriter José José.
Each biopic will showcase the story behind these influential individuals who have made history in the world of Latin music and pop culture. Adding to the success of Telemundo’s original super series concept at 10pm, these two captivating stories come on the heels of the network’s ratings blockbuster Hasta Que Te Conocí, based on the life of Juan Gabriel, and Celia, which kicked off the innovative Bio-Musical genre, capitalizing on the appetite of U.S. Hispanic viewers for stories about their icons and music idols.

El Ganador is a biographical series about the life of Nicky Jam, a singer-songwriter who has become a worldwide music phenomenon. From his humble and troubled origin in Boston, to his downfall on the streets, to becoming the king of one of the most popular musical genres, this is not only the life of Nicky Jam, but the history of reggaeton itself. Based on real facts, and starring Nicky Jam, the series will be directed by Jesse Terrero and produced by Endemol Shine Latino and Boomdog.
Nace un Ídolo is the serialized biography based on the real-life story of José Sosa Ortiz, better known as José José, El Príncipe de la Canción, a Mexican musical icon adored by millions around the world. Nace un Ídolo is a production for Telemundo Studios.
