Telemundo, the official Spanish-language home of Miss Universe in the United States, announced Carlos Ponce and Jacky Bracamontes as hosts of the 68th edition of the competition, live and exclusively in Spanish from Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.
The live simulcast, airing on Sunday, December 8 at 7pm/6C, will bring together 90 representatives from countries and territories around the world.
In preparation for the main event, Telemundo will also present the following original programming throughout the day: The celebration kicks off at 3 pm/2C with Suelta la Sopa Edición Especial: Rumbo a la Corona (Suelta La Sopa Special Edition: En Route to the Crown), a two-hour special program highlighting the preparations leading up to the pageant in which experts will offer details on the contestants from Latin countries, including Spain and Brazil, as well as this year’s jurors, the preliminary events and the famous National Costume show, among others.
Celebrando Nuestras Reinas (Celebrating Our Queens), a celebration of Latin American countries that serves as a prelude to the pageant introducing the Latina contestants who will compete this year, will air live at 6pm/5C.
Also, Telemundo announced that the actress Gaby Espino will serve as a judge for the 2019 Miss Universe competition. Also joining the judging panel is Paulina Vega, former Miss Universe 2014 from Colombia.
