Telemundo´s La Reina del Sur surpasses premier by 19%

Telemundo’s La Reina del Sur surpassed its Monday night premiere by 19% – which was the network’s highest-rated original production premiere in Telemundo history – and beat Univisión’s Aquí y Ahora and TeleFutura’s India in every demographic with nearly three million total viewers (2,841,000), according to Nielsen Media Research. La Reina del Sur – the most ambitious telenovela in network history filmed across four continents – delivered nearly 2 million (1,880,000) Adults 18-49, up 23% from its premiere (vs. 1,534,000) and was the #2 program among all broadcast networks at 10pm in adults 18-34 and men 18-34, regardless of language. Additionally, La Reina del Sur outperformed both Univisión and TeleFutura in Adults 18-49 by 74% and 253%, respectively. The telenovela averaged 977,000 among women 18-49 (besting Univisión by 73% and TeleFutura by 280%) and among Women 18-34, Telemundo beat Univisión by 109% and TeleFutura by 372%. La Reina del Sur was #1 among Spanish-language stations among Adults 18-49 in New York, Miami, Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas and San Francisco. In Las Vegas, the novela was the #1 Spanish-language program among Households.
