Televisa Digital presented one of its new formats, Popurrí, a humorous surreal entertainment magazine that includes information, humor, music, and gossip.
Popurrí uses entertainment and pop culture news as a content excuse. It is hosted by Gio López, who is also involved in journalistic research and the scripts of the program. The show´s edition and post-production include an array of tricks, special effects, and nonsense, present in each broadcast. Users will be able to interact with the show and its host, by sending photos and drawings to be included in the section Popquerías de la Semana.
The show, created and developed by Verónica Hernández, is aired on Thursdays on Telehit`s IGTV, and each episode lasts 3 to 6 minutes.
Popurrí has managed to attract talents such as Aristemo, Carmen Salinas, Vadhir Derbez, Daniel Tovar and Gus Quijas, among others, as well as brands.
Daniel C. Zorrilla, director of Canvas, the original content area of Televisa Digital, assures that Popurrí in its first phase is being consolidated as an entertainment brand. “The idea is to continue adding contents that expand the Popurrí universe. We recently launched the stickers and are preparing a format that will allow us to offer breaking news with the program´s characteristic style”.
