Patricio Wills, president of Televisa Estudios, assured that the Fábrica de Sueños is a fact and they already have three entirely written projects, another that is in the writing phase and two that are being shot, to complete six productions in development. Cuna de Lobos, starring the Spanish Paz Vega, already began shooting and also La Usurpadora, with Sandra Echeverría. The next one to start is Rubí, of which they already have 15 episodes written by Leonardo Padrón (Amar a Muerte) and they will start shooting in July under the production of W Studios.
“Fábrica de Sueños is big. It is a dream, something we came up with walking through the halls of Televisa: building these stories in short formats, with high-quality production. That it is a fact fills us with pride and proves to us that it is possible,” he stated. He mentioned that both Fábrica de Sueños and El Último Dragón (W Studios) will have partners, although they cannot announce them yet.
The other projects are the new versions of Quinceañera, that will be produced by Miguel Ángel Fox; Maleficio, by José Alberto “El Güero” Castro and Los Ricos También Lloran by Pedro Damián.
He reaffirmed that Televisa maintains its new strategy, which is to open up to co-productions with partners, allowing them to extend production hours and reach other markets. The companies they are working with include Endemol Shine Boomdog, Sony, MGM and Estudios TeleMéxico, among others. “We see opening up to alliances with very good eyes. This contributes to having more hours, quality, competitive screens, international vision and our presence in the US, through Univision,” he concluded.
