During the recording of the promos of TelevisaUnivisión’s new telenovela Morir de Amor, premiering Monday the 29th, at 4:30pm, producer Salvador Mejía spoke with PRODU about this project based on the Portuguese story Lazos de Sangre, highlighting the work in terms of adaptation, cast, technology and locations allowing it to be an ideal product not only for open TV as the first window but for streaming and international export.
“We managed to tropicalize the story, giving it a Mexican touch, with the color of its markets, our great country, with a great company and farm, to offer the best to the public that does not have access to travel. We want to open up natural settings. We have 70% of locations that give streaming quality,” he commented.
Regarding the plot, he said it is a contemporary telenovela where all the action centers on what the characters live every day, “both Ticos and the poor have the same envies, coinciding with universal values. The objective and the message is in love.”
Hence, the promos already on the air have a central message: “What do you prefer, die of envy or live of love,” uniting the four universes represented over 120 episodes where the fight will be to combat envy. “There are three promotional films filmed with technology such as that offered by the Alexa camera, which gives it that cinematic touch needed to have an international reach, added to the cast that we managed to assemble headed by actresses such as Gabriela Spanic, Amairani Romero, Kimberly Dos Ramos, and Gala Montes.”
