Televisión Dominicana, the official television network for the Dominican community in the U.S. will air coverage of the 2019-2020 winter season of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM, for its Spanish acronym) beginning Saturday, October 12, at 7:30pm.
Viewers can tune in to the channel to enjoy up to six professional baseball winter league games per week through January of next year. Televisión Dominicana has exclusive U.S. television rights to the home games of Las Estrellas Orientales, Los Gigantes del Cibao, Los Leones del Escogido, and Los Toros del Este, which includes both regular season and playoff games.
“For Dominicans, baseball is more than just a hobby. A renowned incubator and off-season home for top-tier MLB players, the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League boasts an impressive roster with the likes of six-time MLB All-Star Jose Bautista and current Minnesota Twins right-fielder and designated hitter Nelson Cruz within its ranks. Former legends David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Vladimir Guerrero and Sammy Sosa have also participated in the league.
